Celebrations

...and now we celebrate!

We celebrate the final touches being put on the Social Work Site! We are so excited to see and hear about the many lives that will be changed and hearts that will be softened to the word of Jesus in this building.

"The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against the house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the ROCK." Matthew 7:25

Rudy and Yoan putting the yard in around the building.

Hans, Yolo, and Monchi putting the fence up.

Carlos posing by the grass on the side of the building.

Finishing touches on the fence.

The front of the site! Looks GREAT!

...and we celebrate again.

We celebrate the life of Wyatt! On May 13th our energetic, strong-willed, cuddly little man turned four. What a joy it has been to watch him grow, and although parenting him has not been easy, we would not trade it for the world and we are so excited to see the plans that God has for him.

"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well." Psalm 139:13-14

McDonalds ice cream cone...what a treat this is!

Blue cupcakes...specially ordered by the birthday boy.

So happy to finally be eating the blue cupcakes.

Wyatt's teacher Miss Yocasta leading his class in Happy Birthday in English and Spanish.

Our BIG 4 year old!

...and one more celebration to top our May off!

Wyatt's preschool assembly. This was such a bittersweet time for us as it was a year with ups and downs. When moving to the D.R. almost one year ago I had intentions of being more involved in our ministry at Students International...after a lot of hard conversations with God I realized that what I wanted and what he wanted was very different. This has turned out to be such a blessing for all of us. Come fall Wyatt will be staying at home with the baby and I and I will be in the role of complete "stay at home mom". I am looking forward to spending more time with him and helping him grow, learn, and change at this age. SO, this assembly was very sweet for us in the fact that we got to think back on the past year and how much he has grown. The first two months he SCREAMED when we'd drop him off. Now, he wants to know, each day, when he gets to go back. Thank you God for teaching and growing our little Wyatt this year.

He just found us in the crowd, the smile shows it. :)

Singing a song with part of his classmates.

Wyatt and Annabelle! They were the only two English speaking kids in their class and boy did Wyatt love her. :)

I saved this picture for last because there's a lot to say about this woman and I wanted to really take some time to let all of you know what a blessing she has been to Wyatt and our family. This is Miss Yocasta! We could not have asked for a better teacher for Wyatt. As some of you know, Wyatt can sometimes be difficult and when you put him in a classroom with 18 other 3 and 4 year olds...that's tough. Miss Yocasta loved him, prayed for him, taught him so much about behaving, school, the bible, etc. She even researched ways to help him be a better student in the classroom. She made his year so great and made us, as parents, so excited to send him to school each day. Thank you Miss Yocasta for your hard work with Wyatt...we look forward to having you work with Students International at one of our preschools starting this summer!!!
