Mark of the Lion

Learning to be a stay at home mom is getting a little bit easier for me. I'm finding things to do and trying to really make my day structured for the boys. I've also been reading a lot more which is so nice and relaxing. I have always loved reading, but with a job and little kids I didn't have much time for it. Well, I've been reading The Mark of the Lion serious by Francine Rivers (thanks Erin). I got through the first book SO fast and absolutely loved it. So, I started the second book and read through it in a couple of weeks. Well, I'm on the third one and I've had it out for about four weeks now. It's finally getting a little more interesting and I've actually learned quite a bit from them. God continues to work on me while I'm here in Michigan feeling like I'm doing absolutely nothing with my life. :) I was so encouraged by the last few chapters in the book and I just wanted to share a little bit out it.

Two Christians in the story are with a non Christian man who was basically a barbarian and fought in the arenas in Ephesus and Rome. They are with him for months showing him the love of Christ and never giving up on him even though he can't stand the one guy. They love him unconditionally forgiving him for what he's done in the past. Just like Jesus! It is SO easy to see the way someone is living and just ignore them, make fun of them, and talk about them to other people...what would Jesus do in this situation. LOVE THEM!

Another thing that I thought was amazing in the story was that they didn't care who they told about their faith...and they even knew that if the right people found out they could be thrown into the ring with the lions. WOW! Do we have that same mentality when it comes to sharing about Jesus?

All these things from above came about because of one little girl who never gave up on sharing her faith with people. She loved. She shared. She prayed. She didn't care about what would happen to her. She only wanted people to know and believe in Jesus. Do you know the story of Jesus?

I'm thankful to be a Christian! I'm not afraid to share about my faith. God help us to be stewards of you and to share with others your story.

And now after all that insight I must go watch my soap opera that I am now addicted to. :) Hey, it's nap time...I have permission to do nothing.
