Why? How? Know What?

It's been a while since I've actually had a normal update on our family and not just telling about what percent were at. :)

So, I normally have a difficult time blogging at this time of day, but I'm sitting here while my two boys are playing together. YES, playing together without arguing or fighting...yet! This is a new thing lately. The older Wyatt gets the better they are playing together and I love it. I love to watch them laugh together and just have a conversation. Last night they talk their tractors and animals out to the trampoline and just played and played for about a half hour. Then, they raced their bikes. Then, they chased each other around the house. So grateful that they are becoming friends and not just brothers. And now...they've switched and are playing a motorcycle game on the nintendo.

My big five year old is really growing up. He has been wanting to grow his hair out so that he could have a mohawk. I figured there was no harm in it since his aunt cuts his hair and I trust that she wouldn't do anything that looks aweful. SO, he has a mohawk. He's trying to ride his bike without training wheels and has informed me that we need to take it to the DR with us so he can continue to practice. More and more each day I see his dad in him. So many little things that are coming out in his personality that are just like his dad. He has such a love for animals, especially dogs, and wants one so bad. He also loves sports. He has been practicing hitting with a real bat and ball lately and is always playing basketball or soccer or some other sport. He loves the woods, just like his dad. He gets so excited when Hans gets the gun to shoot something outside. He has started reading a little bit and his math skills are exceptional. He wants to know how everything works and why it works that way. He loves to draw (very detailed) and likes to create things. Lately, he is in to playing Mario on the nintendo. HE IS GROWING UP! Only four more months and he'll start kindergarten.

My little Wyatt. He is such a mystery to me. :) Some days I feel like I know him well and other days it's like I don't know him at all. He is such a busy, fun, and adventurous little boy. He loves the outdoors and if I can't find him that's usually where he is. He loves it so much that when he has to go pee...he runs outside and goes off the porch. His love for wheels continues. Tractors, trucks, trains...and anything else with wheels are his passion. He is learning how to spell his name right now and usually says "W - A - A" :) Close enough for now. As for potty training...well, I've basically given up trying. And it seems he's doing a lot better. GO FIGURE! He gets one try in the morning with underwear and if he gets them wet he goes in a pull-up. Some days he wears them a half hour and other days he keeps them on most of the day. When he's in a pull-up he does better. Like I said, he is a mystery to me. The one thing that has changed is that he is sleeping much better at night. He used to wake up several times and for about the past three weeks or so he has been sleeping a solid 10 hours. Another struggle was keeping him in his bed...and now, he does great. Must be because he's almost 3. He asks lots of questions now, mainly HOW? He also likes the phrase "Know what" and sometimes says it four times and then forgets what he was actually going to tell you.

As for Hans and I were are doing good too. I've gotten the hang of the stay at home mom thing and Hans is still enjoying building. They are just finishing up with the house they're working on and he'll have to drive an hour and a half or so to get to the next house. He's not really looking forward to that. We are getting so anxious to go to the DR the closer it gets. It looks like we may be heading out pretty soon. Since we made it to 80% we have been getting more excited. Hopefully after this month we'll be able to get our plane tickets. Praise God!

Grady: You'll always be my mom right?
Me: Yes, always.
Grady: Good because I always want you to be my mom.
