A Great NEED

*deep breath*

Being called to the mission is one of the greatest, most amazing, yet toughest things that we have been asked to do. There is no doubt in our minds that this is what God has called us to do, but yet why I am I struggling with what I'm about to share with you.

Last May we traveled to the Dominican Republic to be a part of an amazing organization, Students International. We felt at home the moment we stepped out of the airport. The staff was so helpful and warming. The facilities were definitely being used to bring glory and honor to God. The poor people were obviously in need of help, friends, and Jesus. It was exactly what we had been praying for, a place where God could use us to spread the good news using our talents. They had a need for a construction worker and someone to work with the teachers/teach. WOW! Way to go God! We left pumped and ready to begin OUR JOURNEY.

So, we began fundraising and speaking at churches and God truly blessed us and assured us that this was the right direction. What we didn't realize was that it was going to take longer than we thought to raise these funds. We knew it was GOD'S timing, not ours, but yet we planned for the end of February of this year. Well, we're finding GOD has a different plan. We are at about 50% in our monthly funds and we still need one time donations for a vehicle and furnishings for our house when we get there. It is so hard to be here, in Michigan, WAITING. I struggle with my faith at times and think, "What else can I do?" and then catch myself thinking...I should be saying "What else can WE do God?" I know that God can do anything and that he will provide just as he always does, but yet I still lack that faith sometimes. I could list a lot of bible verses that would be really appropriate right now, but it would take me too long. :) So, I'm trying a new approach and a new prayer.

"Lord, help my unbelief. Help me remember that you have provided for us all of our lives and that you will continue to do that. Forgive me for not trusting in you and your timing. Help me to remember that your timing is the best, not mine. And one more thing...help our supporters (prayer and financially) realize that they are as much a part of this ministry as I am. Lord, prepare the way for us to head to the D.R. Prepare the Dominican peoples' hearts and minds to learn about you and the love that only you can give. Amen."

All this to ask, yet again, for your support to help us on this journey. We need you as a part of our team (prayerfully and financially) to help bring love and transformation to the poor people in the Dominican Republic. Please consider supporting us with a one-time donation or monthly support. God will truly bless you for being a part of HIS work. If you are interested you can go to www.stint.com to donate or get information on how to. If it would be easier, you could message me your address and I can get you information that way. My email is hjmiller4@hotmail.com if you need to get a hold of me personally for any reason. Please prayerfully consider supporting us.

We love all of you and are thankful that God has allowed us to be a part of your lives.
