I've been sitting here staring at the computer screen for a few minutes trying to decide what the best title for this blog post should be...I still have nothing. The past couple of weeks have been filled with sadness, excitement, and happiness.
Sadness:This past week we received some news that no one wants to hear, a good friend of ours had died suddenly. Shock and sadness overtook us as we sat in silence after hearing the news. I hadn't anticipated the fact that we might lose someone we know while we're away. Marsha Reed was one of my role models. She was a good friend of the family and I went to school with her daughter and son. She was an amazing woman of God and one of the most encouraging and uplifting women that I have ever met in my life. I am thankful for the time that I had to know her and I'm even more excited that she is now safely in the arms of Jesus. I will never forget her and the many cards that I have received from her with a piece of gum and confetti. She will always hold a special place in our hearts.
Excitement: (there's always excitement with a four and a two year old) :)
*We were able to talk with Jon (and Arlene), two of our best friends from home for the first time this week. It was great to talk to them.
*Wyatt is doing so much better potty training and not hitting in his class.
*Grady can count to 39 in Spanish on his own, knows all of his colors, and shapes. AND, after breakfast this morning he says to Hans, "Gracias por los panqueques Papi" :)
Happiness:
Life is good here in Costa Rica. The boys love it and that makes us happy. :) I've learned that it doesn't matter where you're at, if you're together, you can be happy.
We have one month left here in Costa Rica??? Really? It is sad to think, but exciting as well. After this long, you start to miss your family a little bit. :)
Thank you for all of your prayers and support over the past two and a half months. We are thankful for such great friends and family.
